How to Get Information About Color Therapy

How to Get Information About Color Therapy

Color therapy is a holistic and non-invasive type of therapy that
dates
back to ancient times. Colors can affect our mood, health and emotions and are commonly used by hospitals, restaurants and other businesses to impact customers and guests. Here's how to get detailed information about color therapy.

Things You'll Need:

Colored cloth

Colored glasses

Colored construction paper

1

Understand the concept of color therapy. Light energy affects all living things and each color has its own energy vibration. These color wavelengths are absorbed through the eyes, skin and aura. Color therapy enhances the bodies healing processes and emotions by balancing emotions.

2

Learn how the different colors can be used to balance energy within your body and is paired with the chakras that are associated to each organ or area of the body. Warm colors (red, orange and yellow) are associated with the chakras at the bottom of the body and connect us to our physical self by improving circulation, providing energy and relieving depression. Cooler shades (green and blue) associated with the middle of the body, impact you spiritually and calm you. Purple shades, like indigo and violet, are associated with the top of your body to connect you to your mental energy and deals with your thoughts, spirituality and intuition.

3

Get an idea of what color therapy can be used for and how it's used. Colors can be used for physical, mental, emotional or spiritual issues and can serve as a catalyst for and to compliment other healing processes. Utilize it in your everyday life to encourage health and well being. Use the color descriptions in Step 2, look online, find a color therapist (usually at holistic and alternative medicine practices) and read books on colors and chakras for additional details.

4

Determine the type of color therapy you want to use. Therapists in color can apply colored light to acupuncture points (no needles) to balance the color chakras, colored fabrics can be place on different areas of the body or a light box can be used.

5

Think about what your own color preferences and why you may have them. A positive or negative experience in your past can make you like or dislike a certain color. The aversion to a certain color can mean an imbalance in that area or your body, and an attraction to certain colors can mean you're balanced in that area. You can use this awareness to see what areas you should focus on first whether on your own or with a color therapist.

6

Practice some color exercises on your own by placing cloth the color of each part of your body associated with the chakra color. Relax and breathe deeply for five minutes or more while your body absorbs the colors into itself. You can also stimulate a color area that is lacking by putting water in a glass of that color or put colored paper over a clear glass. Allow it to sit in the sunlight for three hours and drink it.

7

Heighten your awareness of color on a daily basis. Everything in nature uses color so pay attention to its vibrancy when you are outside or driving. Notice colors indoors as well and think about how they make you feel.

How to Get Indirect Moxibustion

How to Get Indirect Moxibustion

Indirect moxibustion is done by waving burning sticks of moxa over certain points on the body. The burning moxa never comes into contact with the skin, as it does in direct moxibustion. This is a relatively modern variation on the traditional technique. Most people find the pain and scarring associated with direct moxibustion to be unpleasant; therefore, indirect moxibustion was developed. While it may not be as effective as direct moxibustion for some conditions, indirect moxibustion has proven itself to be quite useful for other issues, such as breech
babies
and localized pain anywhere on the body. It is possible to get indirect moxibustion from most acupuncture practitioners around the world.

Things You'll Need:

Moxa stick

Lighter

1

Purchase several moxa sticks or go to a moxibustion practitioner.

2

Select the points on your body to be treated, depending on what ailments you are experiencing. A trained moxibustion practitioner can tell you just what points you need to use to treat your specific condition.

3

Peel part of the wrapper of a moxa stick, so that the mugwort underneath is exposed, but leave enough of the wrapper in place that you can grip it while the moxa stick is burning. Light the end of the stick, and then blow out the flame to leave the end smoking.

4

Wave the smoking moxa stick over the area of the body you are treating, keeping the stick about 1/2 inch away from your skin at all times. Keep the smoking end of the stick pointed toward your skin. You should feel the heat from the stick, but should not experience any burning or scarring from the treatment.

5

Continue to wave the moxa stick over your treatment area for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and then extinguish the stick by tapping off the ash into a sink.

Tips & Warnings

Get a practitioner who has been in business for at least 3 to 4 years. This way, you will be sure that your practitioner has adequate experience and has had plenty of time to develop a good bedside manner.

Be aware that you will feel some heat when you get indirect moxibustion, and this heat may be intense. If it starts to feel too uncomfortable, let your practitioner know, as part of the treatment involves adjusting the space between the moxa stick and your body to ensure your maximum comfort during the procedure.

Do not be alarmed if your skin turns a bright red during the procedure, as this is normal. You should not, however, experience any blistering.

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

A healer that I once saw taught me the importance of nurturing our animal side as well as our spiritual side in order to lead a balanced and complete life. Shamans also strongly believe in the nurturing of this also. If you would like to get in touch with your animal side, too, follow these steps.

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

1

Observe animals. You will see that they act on their instinct, They act rather than procrastinate. Animals also do not live in fear. When they need to retreat to heal a wound, they do so.

2

Incorporate some animal characteristics into your life, try to follow your instincts more. Lead a less fear based life if you do not already do so.

3

If you are able to do so and have the time to look after one, bring an animal into your life such as a
dog
or a cat. Learn about the unconditional love that animals give.

4

If you are unable to look after an animal, think about sponsoring one or find out about doing some voluntary work in an animal center.

5

Find out what your totem animal in spirit is and nurture your relationship with this animal.

Tips & Warnings

If you would like to find out more about this read Ted Andrew's wonderful book "Animal-Speak."

How to Get in a Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

How to Get in a Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

Here I will show you how to get in a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber. This is something that you can do at home by yourself as you will see. I have been working with these Chambers for 2 years. I do 2 sessions per week to optimize my health.

Things You'll Need:

1 Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

a compressor

optional Oxygen Concentrator (prescription required)

about 50 min

1

The first thing that I do is to make sure there is fresh bedding in the hyperbaric chamber. So change the bedding if need be.

2

Turn on the air compressor and Oxygen concentrator (prescription required) make sure they are connected. You can use an oxygen mask to get a greater concentration of oxygen.

3

Remove your shoes and step inside the chamber and lay down. If you are using a mask then connect it to the line in from the oxygen concentrator. .

4

Make sure the release valve is closed so you can fill up the chamber to its maximum pressure. In this case 1.3 ATA just over 4psi.

5

There are two zippers to close here. The outside one is the first zipper to close. Then make sure the rubber between the two zippers is flush against the chamber so no air can escape when you zip the second zipper.

6

Go ahead and zip the second zipper. Then get comfortable. This process is of course much easier when you have someone else to help you. But as you see in the video it can be done.

7

As pressure builds in the hyperbaric chamber you will need to clear you ears. Some people can yawn and clear. I prefer to pinch my nose and blow out my nose until my ears clear. You might hear a popping sound. If it should become even close to painful you can open the release valve to slow the pressurization of the chamber.

8

This could be said in any step .. just relax you are in the chamber to feel good. It usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes to achieve pressure.

9

When you have finished your session then open the release valve and let the air out. You can do this very slowly or open it all the way if you are comfortable with that.

10

Making sure that the chamber is fully decompressed then open the inside zipper and then open the outer zipper. Maybe you are in the Hyperbaric chamber because you hurt. You could ask someone to help you out of the chamber.

Tips & Warnings

You should keep records of all you sessions and review the notes with you favorite health professional.

This is like a dive of about 12 feet deep

Go in on an almost empty stomach

Some places will let you rent these chambers.

How to Get Ichthiotherapy

How to Get Ichthiotherapy

If you want to travel to Turkey for therapy with doctor fish used in alternative medicine to cure some skin ailments, mainly psoriasis, you should conduct some research first. The two types of doctor fish are the striker and the licker. They work together to remove scaly skin from the body while a person is immersed in hot springs. A well-known center for this is Kangal Fish Springs Resort in the Sivas Province.

Things You'll Need:

Passport

Travel insurance (optional but recommended)

1

Determine what season of the year that you prefer to travel to Turkey for treatment. There are advantages to both summer and winter visits. The spring has more visitors in the summer, so there are fewer fish per person in the pools, but sunshine is plentiful and may aid therapy. Air temperatures range from 60 to 80F in summer and dip down to 32F in winter, although the always-warm pools are connected to enclosed accommodations.

2

Review the packages offered by two main agencies (see Resources for more information). The agency has five treatment package options or you can make up your own package. English speakers likely will find Istanbul Life information easier to read.

3

Make reservations with the agency you choose. The Kangal Fish Springs Resort recommends you bring everything you may need along on your trip, including toiletries and bed linens. There is a store on the premises for forgotten items.

Tips & Warnings

Deren Koray Tourism offers side trips to other sites nearby.

The usual course of treatment is 21 days.

Evidence that exposure to the doctor fish provides a lasting cure for skin disease is not conclusive. Studies are still needed to determine whether or not the fish can transmit disease (such as hepatitis and HIV).

How to Get Helminthic Therapy

How to Get Helminthic Therapy

Helminthic therapy works by introducing helminths or ringworms to a patient's intestinal lining to suppress overactive immune reactions in asthma patients. The ringworms also clean the intestines of those suffering from autoimmune disorders such as Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis.

1

Get a medical exam from your doctor who will determine if you are a good candidate for helminthic therapy.

2

Set up appointment with your doctor to have her administer the worms into your body or to inoculate you with the worms. The doctor applies the worms with a moist bandage, as they are invisible to the naked eye.

3

Monitor your reactions and side effects. Keep a spreadsheet with the side effect symptoms and what time they occurred. Watch your inoculation site for rashes. Report any changes to your doctor.

4

Consult your doctor as often as she wishes to see you. Continue to monitor your reactions, side affects and your inoculation site.

Tips & Warnings

You can eliminate the worms easily and quickly with another therapy if your body has side effects that are stronger than your first condition.

Contact a university currently doing research if your family doctor does not know where you can receive helminthic therapy.
