How to Get Information About Color Therapy

How to Get Information About Color Therapy

Color therapy is a holistic and non-invasive type of therapy that
dates
back to ancient times. Colors can affect our mood, health and emotions and are commonly used by hospitals, restaurants and other businesses to impact customers and guests. Here's how to get detailed information about color therapy.

Things You'll Need:

Colored cloth

Colored glasses

Colored construction paper

1

Understand the concept of color therapy. Light energy affects all living things and each color has its own energy vibration. These color wavelengths are absorbed through the eyes, skin and aura. Color therapy enhances the bodies healing processes and emotions by balancing emotions.

2

Learn how the different colors can be used to balance energy within your body and is paired with the chakras that are associated to each organ or area of the body. Warm colors (red, orange and yellow) are associated with the chakras at the bottom of the body and connect us to our physical self by improving circulation, providing energy and relieving depression. Cooler shades (green and blue) associated with the middle of the body, impact you spiritually and calm you. Purple shades, like indigo and violet, are associated with the top of your body to connect you to your mental energy and deals with your thoughts, spirituality and intuition.

3

Get an idea of what color therapy can be used for and how it's used. Colors can be used for physical, mental, emotional or spiritual issues and can serve as a catalyst for and to compliment other healing processes. Utilize it in your everyday life to encourage health and well being. Use the color descriptions in Step 2, look online, find a color therapist (usually at holistic and alternative medicine practices) and read books on colors and chakras for additional details.

4

Determine the type of color therapy you want to use. Therapists in color can apply colored light to acupuncture points (no needles) to balance the color chakras, colored fabrics can be place on different areas of the body or a light box can be used.

5

Think about what your own color preferences and why you may have them. A positive or negative experience in your past can make you like or dislike a certain color. The aversion to a certain color can mean an imbalance in that area or your body, and an attraction to certain colors can mean you're balanced in that area. You can use this awareness to see what areas you should focus on first whether on your own or with a color therapist.

6

Practice some color exercises on your own by placing cloth the color of each part of your body associated with the chakra color. Relax and breathe deeply for five minutes or more while your body absorbs the colors into itself. You can also stimulate a color area that is lacking by putting water in a glass of that color or put colored paper over a clear glass. Allow it to sit in the sunlight for three hours and drink it.

7

Heighten your awareness of color on a daily basis. Everything in nature uses color so pay attention to its vibrancy when you are outside or driving. Notice colors indoors as well and think about how they make you feel.

How to Get Indirect Moxibustion

How to Get Indirect Moxibustion

Indirect moxibustion is done by waving burning sticks of moxa over certain points on the body. The burning moxa never comes into contact with the skin, as it does in direct moxibustion. This is a relatively modern variation on the traditional technique. Most people find the pain and scarring associated with direct moxibustion to be unpleasant; therefore, indirect moxibustion was developed. While it may not be as effective as direct moxibustion for some conditions, indirect moxibustion has proven itself to be quite useful for other issues, such as breech
babies
and localized pain anywhere on the body. It is possible to get indirect moxibustion from most acupuncture practitioners around the world.

Things You'll Need:

Moxa stick

Lighter

1

Purchase several moxa sticks or go to a moxibustion practitioner.

2

Select the points on your body to be treated, depending on what ailments you are experiencing. A trained moxibustion practitioner can tell you just what points you need to use to treat your specific condition.

3

Peel part of the wrapper of a moxa stick, so that the mugwort underneath is exposed, but leave enough of the wrapper in place that you can grip it while the moxa stick is burning. Light the end of the stick, and then blow out the flame to leave the end smoking.

4

Wave the smoking moxa stick over the area of the body you are treating, keeping the stick about 1/2 inch away from your skin at all times. Keep the smoking end of the stick pointed toward your skin. You should feel the heat from the stick, but should not experience any burning or scarring from the treatment.

5

Continue to wave the moxa stick over your treatment area for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and then extinguish the stick by tapping off the ash into a sink.

Tips & Warnings

Get a practitioner who has been in business for at least 3 to 4 years. This way, you will be sure that your practitioner has adequate experience and has had plenty of time to develop a good bedside manner.

Be aware that you will feel some heat when you get indirect moxibustion, and this heat may be intense. If it starts to feel too uncomfortable, let your practitioner know, as part of the treatment involves adjusting the space between the moxa stick and your body to ensure your maximum comfort during the procedure.

Do not be alarmed if your skin turns a bright red during the procedure, as this is normal. You should not, however, experience any blistering.

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

A healer that I once saw taught me the importance of nurturing our animal side as well as our spiritual side in order to lead a balanced and complete life. Shamans also strongly believe in the nurturing of this also. If you would like to get in touch with your animal side, too, follow these steps.

How to Get in Touch With Your Animal Side

1

Observe animals. You will see that they act on their instinct, They act rather than procrastinate. Animals also do not live in fear. When they need to retreat to heal a wound, they do so.

2

Incorporate some animal characteristics into your life, try to follow your instincts more. Lead a less fear based life if you do not already do so.

3

If you are able to do so and have the time to look after one, bring an animal into your life such as a
dog
or a cat. Learn about the unconditional love that animals give.

4

If you are unable to look after an animal, think about sponsoring one or find out about doing some voluntary work in an animal center.

5

Find out what your totem animal in spirit is and nurture your relationship with this animal.

How to Get in a Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

How to Get in a Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

Here I will show you how to get in a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber. This is something that you can do at home by yourself as you will see. I have been working with these Chambers for 2 years. I do 2 sessions per week to optimize my health.

Things You'll Need:

1 Portable Mild Hyperbaric Chamber

a compressor

optional Oxygen Concentrator (prescription required)

about 50 min

1

The first thing that I do is to make sure there is fresh bedding in the hyperbaric chamber. So change the bedding if need be.

2

Turn on the air compressor and Oxygen concentrator (prescription required) make sure they are connected. You can use an oxygen mask to get a greater concentration of oxygen.

3

Remove your shoes and step inside the chamber and lay down. If you are using a mask then connect it to the line in from the oxygen concentrator. .

4

Make sure the release valve is closed so you can fill up the chamber to its maximum pressure. In this case 1.3 ATA just over 4psi.

5

There are two zippers to close here. The outside one is the first zipper to close. Then make sure the rubber between the two zippers is flush against the chamber so no air can escape when you zip the second zipper.

6

Go ahead and zip the second zipper. Then get comfortable. This process is of course much easier when you have someone else to help you. But as you see in the video it can be done.

7

As pressure builds in the hyperbaric chamber you will need to clear you ears. Some people can yawn and clear. I prefer to pinch my nose and blow out my nose until my ears clear. You might hear a popping sound. If it should become even close to painful you can open the release valve to slow the pressurization of the chamber.

8

This could be said in any step .. just relax you are in the chamber to feel good. It usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes to achieve pressure.

9

When you have finished your session then open the release valve and let the air out. You can do this very slowly or open it all the way if you are comfortable with that.

10

Making sure that the chamber is fully decompressed then open the inside zipper and then open the outer zipper. Maybe you are in the Hyperbaric chamber because you hurt. You could ask someone to help you out of the chamber.

Tips & Warnings

You should keep records of all you sessions and review the notes with you favorite health professional.

This is like a dive of about 12 feet deep

Go in on an almost empty stomach

Some places will let you rent these chambers.

How to Get Ichthiotherapy

How to Get Ichthiotherapy

If you want to travel to Turkey for therapy with doctor fish used in alternative medicine to cure some skin ailments, mainly psoriasis, you should conduct some research first. The two types of doctor fish are the striker and the licker. They work together to remove scaly skin from the body while a person is immersed in hot springs. A well-known center for this is Kangal Fish Springs Resort in the Sivas Province.

Things You'll Need:

Passport

Travel insurance (optional but recommended)

1

Determine what season of the year that you prefer to travel to Turkey for treatment. There are advantages to both summer and winter visits. The spring has more visitors in the summer, so there are fewer fish per person in the pools, but sunshine is plentiful and may aid therapy. Air temperatures range from 60 to 80F in summer and dip down to 32F in winter, although the always-warm pools are connected to enclosed accommodations.

2

Review the packages offered by two main agencies (see Resources for more information). The agency has five treatment package options or you can make up your own package. English speakers likely will find Istanbul Life information easier to read.

3

Make reservations with the agency you choose. The Kangal Fish Springs Resort recommends you bring everything you may need along on your trip, including toiletries and bed linens. There is a store on the premises for forgotten items.

Tips & Warnings

Deren Koray Tourism offers side trips to other sites nearby.

The usual course of treatment is 21 days.

Evidence that exposure to the doctor fish provides a lasting cure for skin disease is not conclusive. Studies are still needed to determine whether or not the fish can transmit disease (such as hepatitis and HIV).

How to Get Helminthic Therapy

How to Get Helminthic Therapy

Helminthic therapy works by introducing helminths or ringworms to a patient's intestinal lining to suppress overactive immune reactions in asthma patients. The ringworms also clean the intestines of those suffering from autoimmune disorders such as Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis.

1

Get a medical exam from your doctor who will determine if you are a good candidate for helminthic therapy.

2

Set up appointment with your doctor to have her administer the worms into your body or to inoculate you with the worms. The doctor applies the worms with a moist bandage, as they are invisible to the naked eye.

3

Monitor your reactions and side effects. Keep a spreadsheet with the side effect symptoms and what time they occurred. Watch your inoculation site for rashes. Report any changes to your doctor.

4

Consult your doctor as often as she wishes to see you. Continue to monitor your reactions, side affects and your inoculation site.

Tips & Warnings

You can eliminate the worms easily and quickly with another therapy if your body has side effects that are stronger than your first condition.

Contact a university currently doing research if your family doctor does not know where you can receive helminthic therapy.

How to Get Healthy Skin With Ayurveda

How to Get Healthy Skin With Ayurveda

Your skin is one of the first things people see when they meet you; therefore, it is vital that you maintain a clear and healthy complexion. According to Ayurveda, maintaining a healthy complexion starts on the inside through proper nutrition and care.

1

Eat according to your dosha. Vata people should include oils in their diet to minimize dry skin, while Pitta people should avoid hot and spicy food to minimize skin eruptions.

2

Integrate green leafy vegetables into your diet. These have antioxidants that purify your skin. Also, add fresh fruits such as grapes, apples, melons and pears.

3

Incorporate spices according to your dosha. All doshas benefit from cumin and coriander. Vatas should add black pepper, ginger and turmeric. Pittas should use fennel and licorice. Kaphas should integrate pepper, ginger, cloves and turmeric.

Tips & Warnings

Use ghee, known as clarified butter, in your cooking. Ghee is full of natural oil that lubricates the skin.

How to Treat Bloating Naturally

How to Treat Bloating Naturally

Bloating is a common problem shared by many, with two major complaints being abdominal fullness and gas. Although it can be a symptom of disease or illness, many times the cause has more to do with lifestyle and eating habits. If you have ruled out the more serious causes, consider some of the ways to cure your bloating naturally.

1

Keep a diary of what you eat and drink. Sometimes bloating is the result of the same group of foods. The diary will help you find the culprit and decide your course of action, such as avoiding the foods that are obviously causing problems. These may include fried foods or vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli or beans. You may also have to eliminate foods with high sugar content from your diet.

2

Change the way you eat. Do not overeat; take smaller bites and chew your food well. Digestion starts in the mouth, where saliva starts to break down the food before it gets to your stomach. Give your body a chance to do the job correctly.

3

Get rid of constipation. A diet with the proper balance of fruits, vegetables and whole grains can improve digestion and help regulate your bowel movements. Some may benefit from a colon cleansing. This can be accomplished with colon hydrotherapy or a combination of herbs and special drinks. Refer to the resources below for more information on these two methods.

4

Brew 1/2 tsp. fennel seeds in 8 oz. of water to make a tea that helps relieve bloating and gas. The seeds, when chewed up and eaten after a meal, not only aid digestion, but also serve as a breath freshener.

5

Reduce your stress level. A meal enjoyed with family and friends in relaxed environment is much better for your digestion than standing at the counter, gulping down your food.

6

Exercise more often to increase circulation and maintain muscle tone. Strengthening abdominal muscles will improve your posture and help hold your organs in place. Good blood flow is necessary for all bodily functions.

Tips & Warnings

Some gas is a normal result of digestion. Unfortunately, you and the people around you will never be completely gas free.

Consult your physician before starting any new treatment or exercise program.

How to Treat Belching Naturally

How to Treat Belching Naturally

To release excessive air from the stomach, the body moves it up the esophagus, resulting in a belch. Belching is not an illness or disease, but can cause discomfort, irritation and embarrassment. The good news is that belching is treatable through natural methods.

1

Reduce the air that you swallow; it's the most common way to cut down on belching. Cut back on chewing gum, smoking and drinking through straws, as these are all activities that will cause you to swallow lots of air. Also, pay attention to your stress and energy levels. When stressed you tend to swallow more air as you breathe and when tired, you yawn, which causes you to swallow air as well.

2

Avoid gassy foods. Foods that are rich in fiber tend to increase gas. Some main offenders include: broccoli, cabbage and beans. Foods that tend to cause sensitivity in many people's digestives systems, such as dairy products and wheat should also be avoided.

3

Avoid carbonated drinks. It seems simple, but if you drink beverages that contain air, the air will end up in your stomach and result in belching. So stop consuming beverages such as pop and beer.

4

Take natural, over the counter treatments. They cannot cure belching, but might reduce the odor or decrease the gas from coming out the other end. Activated charcoal tablets can help to cut down on gas production and absorb odor.

5

Know your allergies. Many people are lactose intolerant and get gas from consuming dairy products. If you're allergic to those foods, eat lactose-free products.

How to Treat a Stuffy Nose With Herbs

How to Treat a Stuffy Nose With Herbs

My nose gets stuffy all the time--especially in the summer when my allergies are at their worst and in the winter when I have a cold.

Over the years I've developed a series of methods that help me breathe easier without overloading my body with medicine.

Here, I'll share with you my favorites. Choose one or two of the methods that you like the best to test them out. Don't do any more than that, though, because you may not be sure of what is actually working for you and what isn't.

Tips to Help You Get Started

1

Fill a bowl with hot water and add some peppermint leaves. Place your face about six inches away from the bowl and inhale the steam. You can drape a towel over your head to form a tent to prevent the steam from escaping.

2

Place a drop of peppermint essential oil on your pillow before you go to bed.

3

Purchase a menthol inhaler and use throughout the day as needed. Follow the instructions on the package.

4

Drink green tea, coffee (the caffeine has decongestant properties) or peppermint tea.

5

Eat something with plenty of fresh garlic, horseradish or onions. Cut an onion and let your eyes tear.

6

Eat something hot. Foods spiced with hot peppers helps drain the sinuses.

Tips & Warnings

How to Select A Wedding Band, Understanding Your Wedding Band

How to Select A Wedding Band, Understanding Your Wedding Band

Select a wedding band that will last long. Understand how you can enhance the meaning of your wedding band.

Things You'll Need:

Information and knowledge from this article, will help you make the right selection.

Step
1

Dimensions of the wedding band: This would include the band width and the ring size of your ring. Most men's wedding bands would have a width of around 8mm to 12mm, ladies would prefer their wedding band to have a width of around 5mm to 7mm. The choice is largely based on personal preference but, there is one feature that needs to be considered. This is the metal weight of your wedding band, a large wedding band with low metal weight cannot be sturdy. It is better to go for a narrow wedding band with good weight rather than, a wide wedding band with low weight. Low weight would mean low thickness of the metal, this will make your wedding band bend or deform easily.

Step
2

Gemstone choice and mounting: A wedding band could be a plain simple ring without any gemstones or diamonds. You can also have a wedding band with a gemstone or diamond in the ring. A wedding band with many small gems or diamonds needs to have a healthy metal weight. This is required for firm mounting of the diamonds and gems in the ring. Remember to consider the gemstone when choosing the design for your wedding band. Certain gems like rubies, sapphires, emeralds and tanzanite can be very expensive in large sizes. A wedding band with a moderate size for the gemstone would be suitable in such cases. The type of mounting used for the gemstone in your wedding band will also influence the durability of the ring. Flimsy prongs can open up and loosen the gemstone or diamond. A firm mounting with metal all around would be ideal, this will however require the wedding band to have a good metal weight.

Step
3

Silver or gold: There is no hard and fast rule regarding the metal choice for a wedding band. You could choose a gold or silver wedding band depending on your likes and budget. If you are thinking of a silver wedding band, make sure that your jeweller is willing to provide you with good design options, good craftsmanship and good gemstone options. There is no reason why you should accept, inferior quality material and craftsmanship for a sterling silver wedding band. For a gold wedding band with many gems or diamonds, or a wedding band with an intricate design 14k gold offers better hardness as compared to 18k gold. Jewellers promise anti-tarnish treatments for silver rings, do not believe this as any plating on silver will wear off over time. The rate at which the plating on your silver wedding band will wear off depends on the climate, water composition, environment etc. A good jeweller would offer similar design and gemstone options for gold and silver rings. This works to your advantage as a silver wedding band would be priced lower than a gold wedding band.

Step
4

Enhance the meaning: Since a wedding band is a special occassion jewel, you could consider including features that would increase the meaning of the ring. Etchings inside or outside the band, including a birthstone or exchanging birthstones would be good options. There is another very interesting way in which more meaning could be added to your wedding band. This involves etching or creating forms all around the wedding band. For example, a musician could have musical notes created all around the band. You could also choose to order a pair of celtic wedding bands, or a claddagh wedding band.

Tips & Warnings

Remember that a wedding band is about you and your spouse. Look at various options, think of various ideas and then discuss them with your jeweller. If your jeweller is only interested in working with a small set of standard moulds that he has, find another jeweller. A personalized wedding band increases the bond between the couple, this makes a tremendous impact when the couple is geographically apart. A perfect example is for men working with the armed forces, their duty could take them far away from home for long durations. On such occassions, a carefully selected pair of wedding bands can strengthen bonds between the couple despite the physical distance. You can see a classic collection of wedding bands at this link. Get a few ideas, use your imagination and then work with a jeweller that you feel comfortable with. http://www.weddingband.kaijewels.com

How to Select a Watch

How to Select a Watch

Watches serve a variety of functions, from workout aid to fashion accessory. Some people even use them for telling time. Before making a purchase, it's worth understanding the basics of watch construction. World-renowned designer models can cost many thousands, while fun disposable watches can be had for a few dollars.

Step
1

Find out about the true origin. Switzerland has long been associated with fine watch making, and many manufacturers try to take advantage of that cachet. Watches identified as a "Swiss Watch" must meet certain requirements as to where production and assembly took place. Before making a major purchase, be sure to get a full explanation from the seller about the watch's origin.

Step
2

Understand what keeps 'em ticking. Most modern watches use a battery-powered quartz crystal to keep time. Mechanical watches use gears and springs, which are charming and beautiful but require periodic servicing. A few companies, including ETA and Valjoux, make good mechanisms that are found in many popular brands. The very best watch makers build their own mechanisms.

Step
3

Examine the watch case. Any top-quality watch has a screw-on back and screw-down crown (the winding knob) for the most protection from water and dirt. Some watches feature a display back that allows you to see the mechanism. Common case materials include stainless steel, gold, silver, platinum and titanium. All of these are highly durable (except gold, which is fairly soft) and provide a distinctive, classy look.

Step
4

Check the crystal, which is the transparent face that covers the watch (not to be confused with quartz crystal mechanisms). Acrylic crystals are the least expensive and offer good shatter resistance. Sapphire crystals are the choice for top watches, due to their clarity and scratch resistance.

Step
5

Consider other features. Some models combine both digital and analog faces on one watch. A water-resistant watch is fine for swimming and general use. For diving, be sure to check the depth rating. A chronograph (stopwatch) function is essential for a
sports
watch. For travel, an alarm is handy, as is the ability to track time in other cities. Gemstones are an elegant if expensive addition to high-end fashion watches.

Step
6

Be sure the band is comfortable and secure. Segmented steel bands with their clean look and smooth feel are popular. Leather bands provide a timeless, understated look. Strong, secure, and quick-drying nylon bands are the best choice for sports watches.

Step
7

Expect top-quality movements, materials (including gemstones) and construction from premium watches that run several thousand dollars. Prestigious watchmakers include Rolex, Tag Heuer, Omega, Bulova, Cartier and Jaeger, with many others worldwide.

Tips & Warnings

While you will spend more on a designer watch, you won't necessarily get increased accuracy. Even moderately priced watches can keep accurate time.

Self-winding watches use the movement of your body to wind themselves; if you don't wear the watch for a few days, it has to be reset.

Do not be misled by a watch listing a large number of jewels. Tiny, low-value jewels are frequently employed within watch mechanisms, as a way to reduce friction and provide long wear. But overall workmanship is more important than the number of jewels. In other words, jewels by themselves do not guarantee quality and accuracy, and more jewels are not necessarily better.

How to Select a Plus Size Women's Suit

How to Select a Plus Size Women's Suit

These days, plus size women's clothing is more abundant and fashionable than ever. Gone are the days when plus size clothing consisted primarily of muumuus. Now you can find stylish and cutting-edge clothing for practically all sizes. A well-fitted suit is a great option for a plus size woman because it offers more structure than other pieces of clothing. If you select the right suit for your body type, it can make you look trimmer instantaneously.

Step
1

Determine where you want to wear your suit. Business suits are typically more conservative in style and color. Church suits and casual suits can be more playful in terms of color and fabric.

Step
2

Decide what type of body you have. Where you carry your weight will have a lot to do with the shape and cut of the suit you should buy. Pear shaped, apple shaped, ruler shaped, hourglass and full-busted women alike need to pick suits to fit their body types.

Step
3

Select a fitted, but not cropped, jacket. Getting a jacket the fits right is important for plus size women because the structure of the jacket will pull in and smooth out any lumps and bumps there might be. Look for jackets that have strong shoulders and are tapered at the waist, but don't flare out too much at the bottom.

Step
4

Choose a skirt that flatters your hips and thighs. If you have broad hips or ample thighs (pear shaped), an A-line skirt will flow over them rather than hug them, for instance.

Step
5

Plan on having a tailor fit the suit to your proportions. Even if you select a women's suit that doesn't quite fit, a good tailor can make the suit look custom made. Even with an ever-increasing inventory of plus size clothing, it can still be hard to find what you want in your size, and having a tailor on call can make all the difference.

Tips & Warnings

Choose a suit jacket that can be belted at the waist to give you more of an hourglass figure if you don't already have one. Belted jackets are a hot, new trend.

Wear a knee-length skirt if you have nice legs.

Avoid baggy suits. When plus size women wear baggy clothes, they often look bigger than they actually are. Instead of hiding under clothes, use clothes to accentuate your positive attributes.

Avoid women's suit pants with side pockets that pull open. Alternatively, you can have a tailor sew these pockets shut, so that you have a smooth line along your hips.

How to Select a Homecoming Dress

How to Select a Homecoming Dress

Homecoming is a time to celebrate school spirit. There will be a ton of fun activities to rally your enthusiasm the week before, and of course, everyone will gather to cheer the football team on to victory. It's typically a lot less formal than prom, but still calls for a special dress.

Things You'll Need:

Dresses

Evening Handbags

Hair Accessories

High Heels

Women's Dress Sweater

Jewelry

Step
1

Listen to the chatter amongst the upperclassmen if this is your first homecoming. Learn whether your school hosts a semiformal or just a dressy homecoming dance.

Step
2

Give yourself plenty of options, and the opportunity to step out in a dress no other girl will be wearing. Visit the department stores and boutiques across town, or shop online for a selection of dresses not carried in your hometown shops.

Step
3

Pass on the full-length dresses and look at styles that hit at, just above, or just below the knee. For more formal functions, consider dresses made of satin, velvet or a sequined knit.

Step
4

Try on a sleeveless shift dress in cotton sateen or a short-sleeved jewel-neck dress in a shiny black jersey. When the fall temperatures are really low, pair one of these with a fuzzy angora sweater, and don't forget your coat.

Step
5

Let prints or trims dress up an otherwise simply cut dress. Look for an off-the-shoulder dress with ruffled or fringed edging, or a knit dress with rhinestone or beaded trim.

Tips & Warnings

If your
date
is tall, think about wearing heels. Wear wedge sandals with a slip dress, or pair slingback pumps with a long-sleeved dress.

Skirts are definitely an option for homecoming. Pair a colorful embroidered pullover with a knee-length slim skirt and low heels.

Dress up your hair with decorative clips, and slip on a nice necklace or bracelet.

How to Select a Handbag for Traveling

How to Select a Handbag for Traveling

You're off on that long-awaited trip to Europe or a romantic weekend getaway,
wondering which handbag to bring. Consider safety as well as style when making your decision.

Things You'll Need:

Handbags

Travelers' Checks

Duffel Bags

Step
1

Think safety first. You'll want to keep your money, traveler's checks, room keys and passport safe no matter where you travel. Look at handbags with zip tops, flaps, velrco or secure button closures.

Step
2

Make sure the straps are strong. Consider long or adjustable straps that allow you to wear your bag across your body for extra protection.

Step
3

Consider lightweight and flexible material for easy packing and fewer wrinkles when you unpack. Nylon and crochet bags work very well.

Step
4

Look for bags with inside and outside pockets and multiple inside compartments. These will allow you to keep all your travel-related items organized.

Step
5

Choose a color that will complement the majority of your travel wardrobe. If your wardrobe is really mixed, go for a neutral color like taupe or navy.

Step
6

Take a second bag along for your evenings out. A small handheld bag will accomodate your cosmetics, room key and money. Consider wearing a money pouch under your clothes to protect your credit cards, traveler's checks, extra money and passport.
